Yes. With a smart meter you can switch to any supplier.
Please note, early versions of smart meters, called SMETS1 meters, sometimes lose their ability to communicate automatic readings when switched to a new supplier. This is an industry-wide problem which everyone is working hard to resolve. The fix should be rolled out between October 2019 and December 2020, but exact timings may vary depending on the original manufacture of your SMETS1 meter.
If you have a SMETS1 smart meter you can still switch to us, but you may need to provide manual meter readings until we can upgrade your smart meter.
We only install the newest smart meters (SMETS2). Once in place, these new smart meters allow customers to switch suppliers without the loss of any smart functionality.
