Your Direct Debit is set to cover your usage across the entire year. When your usage is lower during the warmer summer months you will build up a credit balance which is used to cover your increased usage in the winter. If you join during the winter and haven’t had to chance to build up a credit buffer, we recommend you pay the Winter Uplift.
We review your account every 3 months. If we don’t think that your payments accurately cover your usage then we may suggest a change to your Direct Debit.
If we think you are paying too little and are likely to build up a significant debit balance we will suggest an increase to your monthly payments. Likewise, if we think you are paying too much we will recommend a decrease to your Direct Debit.
