There are a couple of reasons why an estimated reading might appear on your statement even if you submitted a reading:
- If the reading provided doesn’t fall in line with how much we expect you to have used, then we will use an estimated reading. You can find out more here.
- If we have a price change. We need a reading on the date that our prices change so that we know when to stop charging you on the old tariff and when to start charging you on the new tariff rate. In most cases, we have to estimate the reading on this date.
- Ideally we need a meter reading within the 5 days before your bill is due. If you submitted a meter reading more than 5 days before your bill was due, or just after it was due then we will use an estimated reading.
If you are concerned that the reading you provided hasn't been used, please get in touch and we will look into this for you.
