When we haven’t received a meter reading from you in while, we may send someone round to read your electricity/gas meter on our behalf. This is part of our obligation to Ofgem as your energy supplier.
We work with two agencies whose trained engineers may visit your property to read your electricity/gas meter. This is the case for many other energy suppliers and is at no additional cost to you.
In most cases, you will not have a pre-arranged appointment with the engineer when they come to read your meter. If you are not in, the engineer will read your meter if they are located outside of your property. If your meters cannot be accessed, the engineer will leave a card explaining that they tried to visit you.
When the engineer visits your property, they will explain that they are here to read your meters on behalf of Igloo Energy. The engineer will be wearing their own TMA or Lowri Beck uniform.
The engineer will always carry an official identification card which shows the company which they are from and their name and ID number. If you are still unsure and would like us to confirm that the engineer’s visit is genuine, please call our team on 0333 405 5555 so we can help.
If you are on our Priority Services Register your meter will be read on a quarterly basis.
